CS6457: Video Game Design
This course covered game design and development fundamentals in Unity and C# — animation and character control, physics and rigidbody interactions, UI and menu systems, and AI-driven NPC behavior — through a series of individual weekly milestones, culminating in a semester-long team game project.
Dungeon Dumpster Diving (Team Project)
A full dungeon crawler built in Unity by a five-person team, taken through the complete semester project pipeline: pitch, alpha build, playtesting with a formal playtest script and survey instruments, and a final polished game.
Individual Milestones
Progressive solo Unity exercises: character movement and animation blending with root motion, a physics playground covering rigidbody collisions, ragdolls, joints, and friction/bounce materials, and a game menu and pause system with a collectible-item mechanic.
